Bald Eagle

Posted on by

A bald eagle is covered with patches of light and dark colors. The white head and tail contrasts with its dark body and makes it easy to see. Bald eagles are a type of sea eagle and may reach a body length of up to forty inches (or 102 centimeters), a wingspan of up to 7.5 feet (or 2.3 meters), and weights reaching nearly 14 pounds (or 6.3 kilograms). Bald eagles are the largest type of eagle native to North America and are the only eagle that can be found only in North America.

Scribblebot Thoughts

To make a change to my bot, I asked, “What would happen if I changed the weight by putting a zipper pouch on my scribblebot?”

One problem I came across in my engineering was I couldn’t fit all of the wires on my scribble bot.

I would love to try making a robotic airplane next!

Pig Races!

Posted on by

I went to the pig races with my mom and Jon. We really got a kick out of the big fat pigs. Jon did too. I forgot what they are called, but I still think they’re really cool. They made them sound really fast, but they were not that fast. Their belly was dragging down to the ground, and when they raced they waddled like penguins. We were not that happy when number three zoomed right past number one. They got cream-filled cookies at the finish line, and the first pig got the most.

It’s Okay

(a form change poem with thanks to Todd Parr It’s Okay to Be Different)

It’s okay to box.

It’s okay to play baseball.

It’s okay to play sports.

It’s okay to eat your favorite kind of food.

It’s okay to play video games.

It’s okay to play with Legos.

It’s okay to go to MVCS.

It’s okay to do a LOT of things!

Mini Space Investigation

Mars is a planet.  It is also called the red planet.  Nobody has been on Mars yet.  NASA only sent rovers to observe the planet.  Mars also has a north pole and a south pole.  Mars is very cold, so you would need to wear a spacesuit if you could go there.  Did you know that scientists are looking for life forms on Mars?  Mars is four planets away from the sun.  Did you know that Mars is the last planet of the terrestrial planets, and terrestrial means a planet that is made mostly out of metal and rock?  Also, Mars is named after the mythological Roman god of war, and Mars is the second smallest planet.  Mars is about 227,940,000 kilometers from the sun.  It has 37% of the gravity here on the earth.  so you can jump three times higher there.  The tallest mountain in the solar system is on Mars, and it is called Olympus Mons.  Mars has the biggest dust storms that cover the whole planet for months.  It takes 687 Earth days for Mars to go around the sun.

Bloody Moon

Posted on by

One day I was riding my bike

With my friend raccoon.

We were having fun until I got hurt.

Then our fun stopped because we had to go home to get a bandaid.

He gave me a nickname,

And it was Bloody Moon.

Panning for Gold at MVCS!

Posted on by

If I were alive in 1849, I would mine in the mines!  I am not going to become rich though.  I am going to share the gold that I find and split it up with my friend Jadon.  We will become rich together.  We will build a mansion and buy a bunch of horses.  We will also build barns and houses.  We will stay in California and get more gold.  Then we could go other places like Florida, which isn’t a state yet, and celebrate by swimming.  Oh, I forgot an important thing.  The Gold Rush started on January 24, 1848.  Everyone wanted to go because they thought there would be gold.  It was really hard work to find gold in the winter, and a lot of people did not find a lot.
