In a Box

Posted on by

(a form change poem with thanks to Bobbi Katz for “What Shall I Pack in the Box Marked ‘Summer’?)

I will pack my bathing suit,

And I will pack the big, blue pool.

I will pack my shorts and my t-shirts;

I will pack my beach toys in too.

I will pack the nice taste of lemonade and the ice cubes.

I will pack the smell of smoke and bonfires.

Oh, I love summer!

But I love fall too,

So . . . .

I will get out my long johns and my sweatshirt and my fall hats.

I will stop putting tick remover on,

And I’ll start to not worry about them anymore.

I love summer and fall so much,

So I will write a note that says, “Don’t forget

For as long as I live!”

I Hope

Posted on by

I hope that one day I can be a cop. I think that being a cop will be a very fun job for me. I would love to ride with a policeman in his car and see how it feels. I would also love to look at all the awesome computers and speed things. I wonder what it would all feel like.

I also hope to live with my friend Jadon in a camper out in the woods. I don’t know which one, so I guess I will have to think about it.

Baseball

In the summer, I played baseball. It was really fun. It’s not so fun when it’s really hot because you get really sweaty. Baseball is my favorite sport.

The Magician Act

Posted on by

My mom, Jon, and I went in a big tent where a magician was, and we sat on a gray bleacher. The magician had already starte, but we really didn’t miss anything. The first thing the magician did was put his hat on a pole and flipped his hat from the pole to his head. He did it! The second trick he did was that he taught us how to beatbox. I really liked that. So he did that and then he beatboxed while juggling a bunch of balls!

Bald Eagle

Posted on by

A bald eagle is covered with patches of light and dark colors. The white head and tail contrasts with its dark body and makes it easy to see. Bald eagles are a type of sea eagle and may reach a body length of up to forty inches (or 102 centimeters), a wingspan of up to 7.5 feet (or 2.3 meters), and weights reaching nearly 14 pounds (or 6.3 kilograms). Bald eagles are the largest type of eagle native to North America and are the only eagle that can be found only in North America.

Scribblebot Thoughts

To make a change to my bot, I asked, “What would happen if I changed the weight by putting a zipper pouch on my scribblebot?”

One problem I came across in my engineering was I couldn’t fit all of the wires on my scribble bot.

I would love to try making a robotic airplane next!

Pig Races!

Posted on by

I went to the pig races with my mom and Jon. We really got a kick out of the big fat pigs. Jon did too. I forgot what they are called, but I still think they’re really cool. They made them sound really fast, but they were not that fast. Their belly was dragging down to the ground, and when they raced they waddled like penguins. We were not that happy when number three zoomed right past number one. They got cream-filled cookies at the finish line, and the first pig got the most.
