Panning for Gold at MVCS!

Posted on by

If I were alive in 1849, I would mine in the mines!  I am not going to become rich though.  I am going to share the gold that I find and split it up with my friend Jadon.  We will become rich together.  We will build a mansion and buy a bunch of horses.  We will also build barns and houses.  We will stay in California and get more gold.  Then we could go other places like Florida, which isn’t a state yet, and celebrate by swimming.  Oh, I forgot an important thing.  The Gold Rush started on January 24, 1848.  Everyone wanted to go because they thought there would be gold.  It was really hard work to find gold in the winter, and a lot of people did not find a lot.

Nothing is impossible with God!

brooke-noah-2

B: There are lots of examples in the Bible of times that God’s people had really hard things happening. Think of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego being put into the fiery furnace. They completely depended on God and His ability to help them.

N: Nothing is impossible with God, and to remind you of that, we are going to do something impossible! Do you think I can walk on eggs without breaking them? I will!

***N carefully walks on the eggs, getting everybody to cheer for him, etc.

***B breaks one of the eggs into the bowl to prove they were not hard boiled.

B and N: (Read Poster) Remember that nothing is impossible with God!

*Before the next group comes, B puts a new egg in the hole where the one she broke was.

Book Share: Pirates Past Noon

Posted on by

I read Pirates Past Noon by Mary Pope Osborne.  This book is about a boy and a girl named Jack and Annie.  They are going to the treehouse right now.  They are about to time travel to pirate world.  Now that they got there, Annie wants to go swimming.  Jack doesn’t, so he is going to write notes like always.  Then the pirates come and take Jack and Annie.  They got caught by pirates, but the pirates aren’t smart, so Jack and Annie escape fast and go right back to the treehouse and go back home.

I liked this book because it is really cool.
