Jellyfish are a part of a group of animals called cnidarians.  Cnidarians are characterized by the specialized stinging structures in the tentacles surrounding the mouth.  Jellyfish live in the ocean.  Jellyfish eat almost anything!  A jellyfish eats its prey by using its tentacles.  It can eat fish eggs, an entire fish, and sometimes they even kill a fish too big to eat.  Some of the predators of the jellyfish are sharks, tuna, swordfish, and at least one species of Pacific salmon.

I read about frogs.  An important vocabulary word in my book is hibernate.  It means to stay very still like in a deep sleep.  I discovered that frogs are cold-blooded, so if a frog gets too warm, it can jump into cold water to cool down.  The adult frog can camouflage itself to hide from predators or to change its body temperature.  Tadpoles eat almost nonstop, and most of the nutrients are stored in its tail.

I will pack my bathing suit,

And I will pack the big, blue pool.

I will pack my shorts and my t-shirts;

I will pack my beach toys in too.

I will pack the nice taste of lemonade and the ice cubes.

I will pack the smell of smoke and bonfires.

Oh, I love summer!

But I love fall too,

So . . . .

I will get out my long johns and my sweatshirt and my fall hats.

I will stop putting tick remover on,

And I’ll start to not worry about them anymore.

I love summer and fall so much,

So I will write a note that says, “Don’t forget

For as long as I live!”

*Sports make me happy, like boxing, baseball, ping pong, volleyball, basketball, and other things.

*Eating things makes me happy, like pie, cake, popcorn, ice cream, mac and cheese, pancakes, and waffles.

I hope that one day I can be a cop. I think that being a cop will be a very fun job for me. I would love to ride with a policeman in his car and see how it feels. I would also love to look at all the awesome computers and speed things. I wonder what it would all feel like.

I also hope to live with my friend Jadon in a camper out in the woods. I don’t know which one, so I guess I will have to think about it.

In the summer, I played baseball. It was really fun. It’s not so fun when it’s really hot because you get really sweaty. Baseball is my favorite sport.

My mom, Jon, and I went in a big tent where a magician was, and we sat on a gray bleacher. The magician had already starte, but we really didn’t miss anything. The first thing the magician did was put his hat on a pole and flipped his hat from the pole to his head. He did it! The second trick he did was that he taught us how to beatbox. I really liked that. So he did that and then he beatboxed while juggling a bunch of balls!
